Joe Paterno

As some of you might know, this week began with a three day memorial for Joe Paterno, who passed away this weekend.  The celebration of life concluded with a public memorial today.  Campus seems somber today, especially with the seemingly appropriate rain, but I saw visible signs of "Paterno Proud" everywhere I turned today.

This picture is from earlier this week.  The lights in the stadium have remained on all week, which creates a lovely, almost halo glow at night.

Here is the football stadium on this dreary morning.  There is talk that Beaver Stadium might be re-named in some manner, but no official announcement yet.

I didn't attend the procession yesterday, but you can see some great photos of it here.

Thanks for reading.

Europe, Round I

I was going through some old photographs and found these.  There are from my first time abroad back in 2007.

9/11 Memorial

Yesterday we went to visit the 9/11 Memorial and also the Tribute Center.  Both were very touching.

Pool, where the tower once stood

The other pool.  The waterfall was turned off due to the wind and cold weather.

Flag of Honor, which is composed of the names of those lost.

There was a visible police presence nearby and we were required to go through security before visiting the memorial.  I am glad for both.  I hope to return later to see Museum, which is schedule to open this September.

New York City

I went to NYC for the weekend to visit one of my favorite people.  Hopefully, I can visit more now that I'm not on the other side of the country.  It was a great visit!

Seattle, Again

As usual, I took a long layover in Seattle to visit my lovely sister.  We did our regular thing, but, due to my weird flight times, ended up in at the Market at 6:30 a.m. before anything opened.

I'm currently writing from NYC.  More on that soon.
